About Jenny

Jenny Gould has owned German Shepherds for some 40 years. She hit the ground running with her first German Shepherd who set her on a very steep learning curve! Having nagged her parents for her very own German Shepherd for years ‘Abbie’ was eventually brought home at just 5 weeks old! Despite Abbie being dog and human reactive Jenny was hooked. The loyalty and sensitivity of this breed was addictive and Abbie kickstarted Jenny’s lifelong passion with German Shepherds.

It was inevitable that Jenny would at some point begin her own breeding programme and the first ‘Zakanja’ litter was born in 2004. This line is currently heading into it’s 7th generation and it has been a whole new learning curve of its own. From the start Jenny was intent on breeding German Shepherds who are fit for function and without exaggeration in type or temperament. Jenny has experienced virtually every high and low of breeding. She is renowned for her litter raising programme and is passionate about sending her puppies off to their new homes with the very best of starts.

Jenny began dog training from a very early age with her first pet dog, a little crossbreed called Katie. The club she attended ran a competition group and it was here that she first caught the competition bug. As an adult she went on to train to become a dog training instructor and subsequently set up her own dog training business. Jenny has taught thousands of owners and their dogs over the last 30 years. She loves teaching and instructs internationally.

Dog sports have always been a huge part of Jenny’s life and she has enjoyed an enormous amount of success. To date Jenny has bred, owned and handled 4 UK Obedience Champion German Shepherds. In a sport dominated by border collies her success is particularly impressive. Jenny is known for producing German Shepherds who are stylish and driven and all her Obedience Champions have been trained through positive reinforcement training. She is a qualified Championship level judge.

Jenny’s German Shepherd knowledge knows no limits. She has owned, bred, raised, trained and competed at top level successfully over many years. Been there, done it and got the proverbial T Shirt she really is the ultimate expert in the German Shepherd field.
